SIFE World Cup 2007!

Posted by Ineke Jacobs on 13th Nov, 2007

Earlier this year SIFE AUT earned the right and honour to represent New Zealand in the annual SIFE World Cup, hosted in New York. At this competition SIFE AUT competed against 47 other SIFE teams from across the globe, for the World Cup title. During the first round we competed against Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Korea, Swaziland and Sweden. Our SIFE team provided a superb performance that saw us proceed to the Semi-final round. In the Semi-finals the competition between the SIFE teams was tough and close and in the end SIFE AUT finished as one of the top 16 SIFE teams, out of 1500 teams, in the world!

As a team member of the presenting team and President of SIFE AUT, I am very proud of our team’s performance at the World Cup - You guys were awesome and it was a great experience to work with such an awesome team!

Our success, however, would also not have been possible without the constant support and encouragement from our SIFE mentors (Mark LeFevre and Helene Wilkinson); our Business Advisory Board; AUT University; our current SIFE team and our SIFE Alumni. We would like to thank you all for your support throughout the year and we look forward to working with you next year.
