"To make university students more employable"
Pro-Activ is all about giving tertiary students the opportunity to develop their employability. This is done through a SIFE AUT programme inviting executive guest speakers from a broad range of industrial backgrounds speaking about ethics, presentation skills, CV writing, interview skills, entrepreneurship and personal appearance. Once the seminars have been completed, the students will be able to put into practice their newly developed skills.The series is then followed with mock interviews held between recruiting specialist and students, to practice the knowledge gained in the presentations.
Students participate in the interviews, and are then given invaluable feedback on their performance by the interviewer. The presentations are held over a series of evenings concluding with the interview evening.
Pro-Activ provides opportunities to gain knowledge about employment from industry members who are directly involved with recruitment and also provides a chance to create networks with key figures within the business industry.
The Future of Pro-Activ
We are committed to the ongoing work of this project, this means:
- Gaining a variety of different speakers that will give participants a broad overview from the business environment.
- Increasing participation levels from university students
- Research into other tools and resources the team could provide to participants
- Research into other topics that could potentially be covered in added presentations.
